Description

Description Carapace oval. Sides of carapace convex when viewed from the top. Carapace blackish brown with five vertebral scutes, posterior margin serrated. Head and neck dark brown with orange lines. Hatchlings have a relatively flat carapace that are greyish brown covered in dense black spots.

Ecology, Habitat & Location

Ecological Notes Inhabits forest streams where it seems to be nocturnally active and omnivorous.

Distribution There are two recent records in Singapore: one from the Western Catchment Area in 2006, and the other from the Central Catchment Nature Reserve in 2007. Widely distributed in Southeast Asia.
