| Distribution | Found along the coast worldwide. The East Asian-Australasian population breeds in Central and East Siberia; winters in South China, Southeast Asia to Australasia. Very common winter visitor and passage migrant. One of the most common birds found in Sungei Buloh. Peak counts to over 440 birds is exceptional with more usual counts between 200 and 300 individuals. |
