Description

Size 38 cm
Description Long and straight bill; long legs. Bill is black at the tip, fresh pink at the base. Rump, uppertail coverts and base of tail are white, and the rest of the tail is black.

Distribution An uncommon winter visitor and passage migrant to Singapore and an uncommon passage migrant for Sungei Buloh, the most recent record for the reserve was one bird in Sep 2008.

Conservation

Conservation Notes An uncommon winter visitor and passage migrant to Singapore and an uncommon passage migrant to Sungei Buloh, with only one to two individuals recorded annually since 2000. However, on 15 September 2015, the Reserve recorded 32 Black-tailed Godwits. This is the highest number of Black-tailed Godwits recorded in the Reserve since 1996.
