| Description | Male: Scarlet crown, nape, back and upper tail coverts and black sides of head, wings, rump and tail are characteristic features. Underparts whitish with greyish sides of breast and flanks. Bill, eyes and feet black. Female: Upperparts entirely greyish brown except for red on rump and upper tail coverts; underparts greyish-white. |
