Description | Laterally compressed oval-shaped body that is silvery grey in colour, with orange spots on the anal fin. Two distinguishing black spots can be found on body, one found in the middle of the body, and the other at the base of the caudal fin. Tail fin emarginate, pelvic fins threadlike and used as tactile organs. |

Ecological Notes | Has ability to breathe in atmospheric air and are able to tolerate water with lower levels of dissolved oxygen. Generalist omnivore that can be found at the surface of water, typically in streams that are slow-flowing and vegetated. |
