Growth Form It is a herbaceous plant growing about 1.5-4.5m tall.
Foliage Its leaves are dark-green, broadly-lanceolate, resembling that of banana.
Flowers Its showy inflorescence is erect, comprised of red-tipped bracts and greenish-yellow flowers. The bracts are alternately arranged along the yellow rachis. The bracts located at the tip of the flower stems are shorter than the ones at the bottom.
