Description

Size 12 cm
Description Short body with a flattened head and upturned mouth. Colouration can be found on the caudal, anal and dorsal fins. Males are typically smaller than females.

Ecology, Habitat & Location

Ecological Notes Consumes small invertebrates and detritus. Gives birth to live young. Typically found in small streams.
Habitats Freshwater, Urban
Distribution Found in urbanized areas in Singapore only, such as drains, canals and ponds. Worldwide, it is native to Mexico and Guatemala. Can also be found in USA, Japan and the Philippines.
