Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form Annual herb with a creeping or erect growth habit.
Foliage Triangular to ovate leaves have a toothed leaf margin. Stipules (tissue at the base of the leaf stalk) are absent. Leaf blade is 1-2 cm long and 0.5-1.1 cm wide.
Flowers Purple tubular flowers are bilabiate, having a 2-lobed upper lip and a 3-lobed lower lip. The lobes are mostly white and the throat is yellow, both having purple markings.
