Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form A sympodial epiphyte, it has a clumping growth form and can grow up to 100cm in height. 
Stems The canes are erect and clustered together. The canes can grow up to 100cm long and shed their leaves after 2 years.
Flowers The flowers are borne on pendulous, crowded racemes which are borne on both leafy and leafless canes. The flowers measure 27 to 30mm wide and can last between 1 to 2 weeks. The flower sepals and petals are white, the lip is white with a purple patch covering the centre of the lip. 
Habitat It is found growing on trees above 1000m in altitude, under light shade.
