Launched in 2021 and supported by the Garden City Fund (GCF), NParks' registered charity and IPC, the educational resource package titled "Sharing Our Home with Animals and the Community in Singapore, our City in Nature" was developed to help young children develop a deeper appreciation for our city as an urban ecosystem.
It is designed and produced specially for children aged between 5 and 6 years old to share what it means to live in a City in Nature and how we can contribute to this vision.
These resources support the learning areas outlined in the current kindergarten curriculum, Nurturing Early Learners.
With these resources, young children are encouraged to discover more about the world around them, develop socially and emotionally, and build their motor, language, literacy and numeracy skills.
All pre-schools licensed under the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) have received complimentary sets of the educational resources in August 2021.
These educational resources are also available online below. Each set includes:

Join Willie as he learns how to take good care of pets and what it means to be a responsible pet owner. Through this, Willie learns that pets depend on their owners to care for them for life, and keep them safe and healthy.
Willie the Whistling Duck is eager to learn how we can share our home with with the people and animals that live here.
From picking up after your pets, training them and bringing them to the vet to keep them healthy, Willie discovers that there are many things we can do to care for our pets and the community at the same time!
On this journey, Willie learns that we must all make an effort to keep Singapore a pleasant home for everyone.

Although these resources were designed specifically for children in the K1 and K2 cohort, schools are free to use these resources for students at other levels as well.
Many of our partner centres have adapted the resources and executed age-appropriate activities to complement their centre’s nursery curriculum.
As we have limited stock and have no plans to reprint, new schools may wish to email Raymond_Chan@nparks.gov.sg if they are interested in getting a copy of the resources, subject to availability.
You may download the entire package on our website.
