As early as during the colonial period, researchers have studied the biodiversity of Singapore's Southern Islands. Efforts over many decades have built up a strong body of knowledge of the flora and fauna of the islands but much remains to be done. This set of e-publications and databases of Singapore's Southern Islands documents both terrestrial and marine taxa, and the islands' history and geology. It provides a holistic overview that is essential for developing practical and relevant nature conservation and heritage management strategies for the area. The vascular plants, insects and conclusion chapters, and flora database will be available in Q4 2025.
