SPEAKER SERIES
Speaker Series (13 March 2026): In Green – Asuka Hishiki
Step into Asuka Hishiki's cabinet of curiosity as the Botanical Art Gallery presents "In Green”, a captivating exploration of nature through the artist's wondering eyes. Nature not only pleases Hishiki but also inspires her. She wonders, grows curious, and is amazed. When she sees something interesting, her imagination flies like a butterfly. While environmental concerns weave through her work, her primary motivation remains sharing nature's beauty and celebrating the simple joy of experiencing it.
Asuka Hishiki, trained at Kyoto City University of the Arts, observes nature closely and finds joy in experiencing it firsthand. In watercolour and pencil, she draws vegetables, fruits, and insects with scientific precision and sensitive regard for form and individuality.
