Sultan Iskandar Muda is a just and well-liked leader of a prosperous kingdom in Aceh. One day, as he and his people are preparing to confront an evil king, they stumble upon a magical tree trunk on the beach. Discover how the tree trunk helps them, and what happens when they meet the wicked king!
Immerse yourself in a magical storytelling adventure with Malay Heritage Centre's docent and storyteller, Hafiz Rashid as he shares this exciting Acehnese tale, and find out more about plants associated with the story as he brings you around the Centre for Ethnobotany. In this session, you will also get a chance to learn a simple traditional dance routine with Acehnese dancer Dekdi!
This programme is conducted in English and organised in collaboration with the Malay Heritage Centre.
