About the Exhibition
Ways of Seeing: Landscapes brings together oil paintings created by members of the public during six small-group workshops guided by artist Mylene Viggers.
Drawing inspiration from different landscapes in Singapore Botanic Gardens, participants were invited to slow down, look closely and capture their own impressions in oils. Working from photographs or painting outdoors, they explored an Impressionist approach to interpreting the Gardens' landscapes. Created through different eyes and individual perspectives, the works invite us to consider how light, time, place and personal experience shape what we see and how we represent a landscape.
The exhibition celebrates observation, creative expression and the connections formed when people come together to experience and respond to the Gardens through art.
