Step into the enchanting world of shadow puppetry at Fort Canning Park! In this spellbinding 2-hour workshop, discover the magical art of Wayang Kulit, a UNESCO-recognised masterpiece of cultural heritage. Under the guidance of master puppeteers, craft your very own shadow puppet, possibly ancient Singapore characters – perhaps the mighty Sang Nila Utama or the legendary Badang.
Learn the intricate techniques of traditional puppet-making while bringing Singapore's forgotten tales to life. You'll cut, paint, and articulate your puppet using authentic methods, then learn the basics of manipulation to make your character dance with light and shadow. Perfect for history enthusiasts, art lovers, and anyone curious about our region's rich storytelling traditions.
This workshop is part of SG60 celebrations at Fort Canning Park.
Suitable for ages 10 and above. Children aged 12 years and below must be accompanied by an adult participant.
