This hands-on workshop offers an exciting introduction to the fascinating world of DNA—the building blocks of life. Participants will discover what DNA is, why it matters, and how it plays a vital role in shaping every living thing, from plants and animals to people.
The session features a guided DNA extraction activity using fruit and simple materials commonly found at home. Step by step, participants will get to see the normally invisible strands of genetic material appear before their eyes, sparking curiosity and wonder.
Along the way, they’ll learn basic scientific concepts in a fun, accessible way—encouraging them to ask questions, think critically, and see science as something they can explore with their own hands. A perfect first step into the world of biology, this workshop promises both learning and play in equal measure.
Suitable for children ages 8 – 12.
