A Collaboration with Malay Heritage Centre

Raja Suran, a powerful Indian king sets out on a journey to conquer China. As his army reaches Temasek (modern-day Singapore), an unexpected encounter with a mysterious ship crewed by elderly men turns his conquest into a moment of wit, and surprising wisdom.

Join storyteller Hafiz Rashid for a captivating retelling of legends from the Malay Annals. After the storytelling, explore the Sang Nila Utama Garden on a guided tour, then try your hand at natural dye colouring with Wild Dot, a botanical inkmaking studio. End the morning with a pengat cooking demonstration by Suria from Dapur Cahaya, who specialises in preserving traditional Malay cuisine.

This programme is conducted in English and organised in collaboration with the Malay Heritage Centre.
