CDL Green Gallery and People’s Gallery, Singapore Botanic Gardens
Free admission
There is much more to fungi than meets the eye.
Step into the fascinating and often unseen world of fungi at Funtastical World of Fungi, a new exhibition at the Singapore Botanic Gardens.
Beginning with an immersive art installation featuring fungi and live bioluminescent mycelium, the exhibition invites visitors to discover how fungi grow, feed and reproduce, the important roles they play in nature, and the remarkable diversity of fungi found right here in Singapore.
Discover how researchers are exploring the potential of fungi in areas such as materials, agriculture and environmental restoration, and learn about the Singapore Botanic Gardens’ contributions to fungal research, from archival records and herbarium specimens to molecular research today. Visitors can also find out how citizen scientists are helping to build our knowledge of Singapore’s fungal diversity.
Beyond the CDL Green Gallery, the exhibition continues at the People’s Gallery spaces at the five main gates of the Gardens. Inspired by researchers’ field notes, these outdoor displays feature fungi discovered and rediscovered across Singapore and offer a glimpse into where the process of studying fungi begins.
