Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form It is a perennial, rhizomatous herbaceous plant, up to 1.5 - 1.8 m tall.
Cultivation It thrives in full sun and semi-shade, and prefers moist, well-drained soil with high organic matterbut tolerates various soil types. It is tolerant of waterlogging. It can be propagated by division and seeds.
Etymology The genus Canna is derived from Greek name for a certain type of reed.
