The Community Gardens Edibles Competition (CGEC) is a showcase of the longest and heaviest crops such as Winter Melon, Pumpkin and Snake Gourd grown by the gardening community. It is a platform for enthusiastic gardeners to exchange gardening knowledge and through competition, raise the level of horticulture skills in the community.

Community Garden Edibles Competition 2022

 

Missed participating in the last edition of the competition? Do not fret as the Community Garden Edibles Competition will be returning in 2022! Grab this opportunity if you are an enthusiastic gardener who enjoys growing edibles for a chance to pit your gardening skills against other passionate gardeners in Singapore.

 

CGEC is open to all persons residing in Singapore except for staff of NParks. You may submit your fruit(s) or vegetable(s) from existing plants growing in your garden or grown from seeds obtained from any other source.

 

Competition Categories

You can take part in all or any of three categories with separate entries for each:

  • Longest (fruit/vegetable)
  • Heaviest (fruit/vegetable)
  • Open (unusual or uncommon fruit/vegetable) 

 

Longest and Heaviest categories

For these two categories, you may submit one entry for one type of fruit/vegetable, or one entry each for multiple types. The fruit and vegetable types accepted are restricted to the following:

S$400 gardening gift vouchers and trophy

First Runner-up

Consolation (4th to 10th)

Open category

The following prize will be awarded to three winners.
